White is screening at ‘07 edition of Animation Nation from 23 Nov – 01 Dec. After greeting audiences at several film festivals, this is the first one that’s dedicated to animated feature films and shorts. And it is in Singapore!
Kudos to the Singapore Film Society that brought Mind Game here in 2005. This year they are back with a line-up of treasure including Madame Tutli-Putli (woo hoo!), The Danish Poet, t.o.m., Milk Teeth, Best of Ottawa, Tekkon Kinkreet (drool…) and many other amazing pieces!
I’m so psyched that I’ve already purchased tickets for feature film 5cm Per Second and documentary The Pixar Story. Anyone wants to go with me? Full programme here.

A handful of animation shorts which I would like to watch, but haven’t had the opportunity to. I think a couple of them are coming to Animation Nation 2007 in Singapore, can’t wait!

The Pearce Sisters
Directed by Luis Cook, Aardman Animations, UK, 2007
A black tale of love, loneliness, guts, gore, nudity, violence, smoking and cups of tea.

Madame Tutli-Putli
Directed by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, National Film Board of Canada, Montreal
Madame Tutli-Putli boards the night train, weighed down with all her earthly possessions and the ghosts of her past.
More yearnings after the jump.

I have to say this at least once. Tekkon Kinkreet is really impressive and is, what I feel personally, the animation with astonishing art direction and outstanding visuals. To be convinced, see here. It was originally released for theaters in 2006, and its English DVD edition is scheduled to be released on 25th Sep (buy *cough* me one).
Tekkon is directed by Michael Arias; Original manga by Taiyo Matsumoto; Art direction by Shinji Kimura. More details here.

This spot was created earlier this year with Jieying for the annual Creative Awards jointly organised by the Ministry of Manpower and Singapore Technologies Engineering. It did good and came out second in the competition, we were thrilled!
Many many thanks to friends who trust us enough to allow us to cast them as voices for animals. :-) Thank you Ran, Samuel and Zhengyong who is our audio guy as well as a very convincing elephant. The jingle at the end is composed and performed by Phoebe.
I’m posting the entire spot online here, enjoy! Video after the jump!

Okay, here it is, I have edited out a 40-sec excerpt of the works I have done in school for the past 2 years. I welcome feedback and comments, bad and good. I guess this is a really good opportunity; this is when improvement starts! Don’t hold back your words! Say the first thing that comes to your mind, I really appreciate that.
